I am excited to be a member of the Ross Beatty teaching staff.
My name is Amber Gil de Lamadrid-Loy, “Mrs. Loy” to the students, and I am teaching the high school electives of Journalism, Yearbook, and Sociology/Psychology. I will also be teaching Junior High resource.
I graduated from Grand Valley in 2009 with a degree in Psychology/ Special Education with an emphasis in Cognitive and Emotional Impairments and a minor in Elementary Education. I have had plenty of experience in working with people of various ages who have special needs, through camps and other academic settings. I have over 6 years of teaching experience with majority of it being in an inner city setting.
Currently, I am going back to school in order to obtain a teachable minor in Psychology.
I grew up in Stevensville, Michigan and currently, reside in Galien. Some of my favorite things to do in my free time include going to the beach, reading, and spending time with my family. I also like to walk on the pier and take relaxing walks in the woods. I recently got married in August of 2016. We have adopted an adorable German Shepard mix that we are training to become a service dog.
